A hike to Sterling Pond in Jeffersonville is another highly recommended Vermont foliage escape. This small but tranquil body of water, tucked away in the woods of the rugged mountain range known as Smugglers’ Notch is breathtaking in the misty morning splendor, on a cool autumn morning, as the leaves change color.
The 2 mile, round trip hike is short if starting from the parking lot on Vermont 108, also known as, the Notch Road. Yearning for a bit longer hiking adventure? Add one of many linking segments, including portions of Vermont’s famous Long Trail.
